The extremely popular print version of the primer released over a year ago has been updated, and includes detailed information on both the advantages and disadvantages of loan consolidation, all in an easy question and answer format. Strategies for Managing Your Student Loans, January 2002
VHS Tape, Publications Code - AAMC Members SLVM, Non-Members SLVN
This is a tape of the popular debt management workshops conducted by the AAMC at teaching hospitals and medical schools across the country each year, and is part of the AAMC sponsored MEDLOANS Debt Management Program. This taped workshop addresses: subsidized and unsubsidized loans; interest rates and capitalization; grace, deferment, and forbearance provisions; and repayment options. It also includes updated PowerPoint slides, plus interviews with residents. The tape runs approximately ninety minutes. As you know, there has been and continues to be a tremendous interest by residents in loan consolidation with the record low interest rates on student loans this year. We want to do everything possible to be sure your residents are well educated as to both the advantages and disadvantages of loan consolidation. The primer should help in this regard.
